Chewelah Cougars (Chewelah, WA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Kettle Falls Bulldogs (Kettle Falls, WA), 57-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Chewelah upgrades its record to 1-16 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to St. George's (Spokane, WA) to play the Dragons in a 2B Bi-County bout on Friday, January 27. The Dragons come into the bout with a record of 11-5. St. George's lost 60-48 in their recent league bout against Colfax (Colfax, WA)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Reardan Screaming Eagles (Reardan, WA) in a 2B Bi-County battle, on Friday, January 27. Kettle Falls will attempt to improve on its 4-12 season record. The Screaming Eagles come into the battle with a 6-10 record after their 67-43 league loss to Davenport (Davenport, WA).
