Sullivan East Patriots (Bluff City, TN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones (Elizabethton, TN), 68-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sullivan East upgrades its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Gate City (Gate City, VA) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 7-8.

Next up, the Fighting Cyclones play the Volunteer Falcons (Church Hill, TN) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Friday, January 27. Elizabethton will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 15-8 record after their 50-38 league loss to Unicoi County (Erwin, TN).
