The Franklin Lions basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Elkhart Elks to 40 in the Lions league triumph on Tuesday.

The Lions now sport a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fairfield for a 3A Region III District 20 contest on Friday, January 27. Franklin will meet a Eagles team coming off a 56-53 league win over Groesbeck (Groesbeck, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 10-13.

The Elks (7-21) will now prepare for their contest against Mexia (Mexia, TX). The Black Cats enter the 3A Region III District 20 contest with a 22-6 record. In their last contest, Mexia triumphed over Westwood (Palestine, TX), 53-50, in a league contest.
