Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers (Hartford, CT) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Ellington Knights (Ellington, CT), 49-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Sports & Medical Sciences Academy upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Tigers travel to East Granby (East Granby, CT) to play the Crusaders in a North Central Connecticut bout on Friday, January 27. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 2-10.

Next up, the Knights play the Cheney RVT Beavers (Manchester, CT) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 26. Ellington will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Beavers go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 54-42 league win over Goodwin Tech (New Britain, CT).
