Highlands Scots (North Highlands, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Esparto Spartans (Esparto, CA), 56-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Highlands upgrades its record to 4-13 on the campaign. The Scots travel to San Juan (Citrus Heights, CA) to play the Spartans in a Sierra Delta League bout on Friday, January 27. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 4-19. San Juan lost 68-35 in their recent league bout against Vacaville Christian (Vacaville, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Rio Vista Rams (Rio Vista, CA) in a Sierra Delta League bout, on Friday, January 27. Esparto will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Rams come into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 63-40 league win over Golden Sierra (Garden Valley, CA).
