The Gates County Red Barons basketball team scored 78 points and held the host Tarboro Vikings to 53 in the Red Barons league triumph on Tuesday.
The Red Barons now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Washington County for a 1A Conference 2 contest on Wednesday, January 25. Gates County will battle a Panthers team coming off a 94-41 league win over Perquimans (Hertford, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 13-1.
The Vikings (3-13) will now prepare for their contest against Riverside-Martin (Williamston, NC). The Knights enter the 1A Conference 2 contest with a 11-7 record. In their last contest, Riverside-Martin was routed by Bertie (Windsor, NC), 78-48, in a league contest.
