The Mechanicville Red Raiders basketball team scored 55 points and held the host Voorheesville Blackbirds to 48 in the Red Raiders non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Red Raiders now sport a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hoosic Valley for a Section 2 Wasaren - B contest on Friday, January 27. Mechanicville will meet a Indians team coming off a 63-57 league win over Hoosick Falls (Hoosick Falls, NY). The Indians record now stands at 13-1.

The Blackbirds (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against Cobleskill-Richmondville (Cobleskill, NY). The Bulldogs enter the Section 2 Colonial - Patriot contest with a 2-12 record. In their last contest, Cobleskill-Richmondville was nudged by La Salle Institute (Troy, NY), 80-38, in a non-league contest.
