Georgia High School Basketball - Twiggs Academy ripped by Memorial Day

January 24, 2023: Jeffersonville, GA 31044

The Memorial Day Matadors basketball team scored 89 points and held the host Twiggs Academy Trojans to 19 in the Matadors league triumph on Tuesday.

The Matadors now sport a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host First Preparatory Christian Academy for a GIAA A Region 6 contest on Friday, January 27. Memorial Day will battle a Highlanders team coming off a 77-46 league win over Robert Toombs Christian Academy (Lyons, GA). The Highlanders record now stands at 11-5.

The Trojans (2-13) will now prepare for their contest against Crisp Academy (Cordele, GA). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 1-17 record. In their last contest, Crisp Academy was routed by David Emanuel Academy (Stillmore, GA), 71-21, in a non-league contest.
