The North Star Academy (Newark, NJ) basketball nipped the visiting University Phoenix (Newark, NJ), 42-35 in Tuesday's league test.
The (7-9) will now prepare for their test against Central (Newark, NJ). The Blue Devils go into the non-league test with a 3-12 record. In their last test, Central was tipped by East Side (Newark, NJ), 65-42, in a league test.
The Phoenix now own a 0-13 record. They play next when they travel to Irvington for a Super Essex - American test on Tuesday, January 31. University will encounter a Blue Knights squad coming off a 57-53 non-league win over Caldwell (West Caldwell, NJ). The Blue Knights record now stands at 14-4.
