The Leon Cougars (Jewett, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Centerville Tigers (Centerville, TX), 48-39 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cougars (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Latexo (Latexo, TX). The Tigers go into the 2A Region III District 20 test with a 10-13 record. In their last test, Latexo went down by Lovelady (Lovelady, TX), 67-19, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 3-13 record. They play next when they host Grapeland for a 2A Region III District 20 test on Friday, January 27. Centerville will encounter a Sandies squad coming off a 56-14 league loss to Groveton (Groveton, TX). The Sandies record now stands at 1-12.
