    • North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn winner over Mitchell

    January 24, 2023: Valdese, NC 28690

    In Tuesday's league outing, the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) basketball squad felled the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), by a margin of 58-44.

    The Wildcats (11-8) will now prepare for their outing against Madison (Marshall, NC). The Patriots go into the 1A/2A Conference 42 outing with a 2-17 record. In their last outing, Madison was beaten by Rosman (Rosman, NC), 71-33, in a league outing.

    The Mountaineers now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Tuscola for a non-league outing on Thursday, January 26. Mitchell will clash with a Mountaineers squad coming off a 61-40 league loss to North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 3-16.
