In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Grainger Grizzlies basketball team scored a good 48-38 triumph over the Union County Patriots.

In their next game, the Grizzlies meet the Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN) in a 3A District 2 match, on Friday, January 27. Grainger will attempt to better on its 10-11 season record. The Fighting Cocks enter the match with a 13-8 record after their 56-43 league win over Cherokee (Rogersville, TN).

With the defeat, Union County moves to 10-10 on the year. The Patriots travel to Alcoa (Alcoa, TN) to meet the Tornadoes in a non-league match on Friday, January 27. The Tornadoes enter the match with a record of 14-2.
