Virginia High School Basketball - Herndon can't hold off Wakefield

The Wakefield Warriors basketball team scored 43 points and restricted the visiting Herndon Hornets to 41 in the Warriors league victory on Tuesday.
The Warriors now sport a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host McLean for a District 2 contest on Friday, January 27. Wakefield will battle a Highlanders team coming off a 36-17 league win over George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 8-7.
The Hornets (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against Yorktown (Arlington, VA). The Patriots come into the non-league contest with a 2-13 record. In their last contest, Yorktown was nudged by Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA), 41-40, in a non-league contest.
