Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM), 32-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mescalero Apache upgrades its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Chiefs host Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM) to play the Bears in a 2A District 3 bout on Saturday, January 28. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 3-13. Cloudcroft lost 66-21 in their recent league bout against Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) in a 2A District 3 bout, on Thursday, January 26. Tularosa will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 60-14 league win over Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM).
