Texas High School Basketball - Monte Alto ripped by Progreso

The Progreso Red Ants basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Monte Alto Blue Devil to 14 in the Red Ants league triumph on Tuesday.

The Red Ants now sport a 18-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Santa Rosa for a 3A Region IV District 32 contest on Friday, January 27. Progreso will battle a Warriors team coming off a 56-35 league loss to Lyford (Lyford, TX). The Warriors record now stands at 4-15.

The Blue Devil (0-9) will now prepare for their contest against IDEA Weslaco Pike (Weslaco, TX). The enter the 3A Region IV District 32 contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, IDEA Weslaco Pike was routed by Rio Hondo (Rio Hondo, TX), 74-27, in a league contest.
