The Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the host Nazareth Academy to 39 in the Hurricanes league victory on Tuesday.

The Hurricanes now sport a 16-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Scranton Prep for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 28. Villa Maria Academy will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 44-36 league win over Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 11-1.

The (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against Villa Joseph Marie (Holland, PA). The Jems come into the Catholic Academies contest with a 3-10 record. In their last contest, Villa Joseph Marie was defeated by Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA), 48-21, in a league contest.
