Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC), 34-25 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Alexander Central improves its record to 13-0 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to confront the Huskies in a non-league battle on Friday, January 27. The Huskies come into the battle with a record of 5-9. Ashe County lost 35-17 in their recent non-league battle against Watauga (Boone, NC)

The Vikings (8-6) will now prepare for their battle against Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC). The Ragin' Bulls come into the non-league battle with a 6-3 record. In their last battle, Hickory Ridge was toppled by Mooresville (Mooresville, NC), 28-7, in a non-league battle.
