Virginia High School Basketball - Staunton River can't hold off Franklin County

The Franklin County Eagles basketball team scored 34 points and restricted the visiting Staunton River Golden Eagles to 33 in the Eagles non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Eagles now sport a 5-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fleming for a non-league contest on Friday, January 27. Franklin County will battle a Colonels team coming off a 51-28 non-league loss to Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 6-5.
The Golden Eagles (2-12) will now prepare for their contest against William Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Terriers come into the non-league contest with a 11-4 record. In their last contest, William Byrd was nudged by Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA), 43-39, in a non-league contest.
