Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC), 47-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northeastern upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Eagles host Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Hertford County won 65-57 in their recent non-league bout against Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC)

Next up, the Aces play the Pasquotank County Panthers (Elizabeth City, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. Holmes will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 14-1 record after their 65-57 non-league loss to Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC).
