Klawock Chieftains (Klawock, AK) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Angoon Eagles (Angoon, AK), 83-69 in a league bout.

With the victory, Klawock upgrades its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Chieftains host Kake (Kake, AK) to play the Thunderbirds in a 1A Southeast bout on Sunday, January 28. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a record of 5-0.

Next up, the Eagles play the Gustavus Foxes (Gustavus, AK) in a 1A Southeast bout, on Monday, February 5. Angoon will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record.
