Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) and the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), saw Grayson County's basketball squad overcome Bland County by a tally of 50-36.
With the victory, Grayson County improves its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Auburn (Riner, VA) to confront the Eagles in a Mountain Empire challenge on Friday, January 26. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 9-6. Auburn won 69-29 in their recent league challenge against Giles (Pearisburg, VA)
Next up, the Bears confront the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Friday, January 26. Bland County will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Maroon Tide come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 60-38 non-league loss to Carroll County (Hillsville, VA).
