Scott County Cardinals (Georgetown, KY) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bryan Station Defenders (Lexington, KY), 79-78 in a league bout.

With the victory, Scott County upgrades its record to 6-14 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Sayre (Lexington, KY) to play the Spartans in a District 42 bout on Friday, January 26. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 13-6. Sayre lost 45-42 in their recent non-league bout against Newport (Newport, KY)

Next up, the Defenders play the Frederick Douglass Broncos (Lexington, KY) in a District 42 bout, on Friday, January 26. Bryan Station will attempt to upgrade on its 16-2 season record. The Broncos come into the bout with a 13-6 record after their 71-44 league win over Henry Clay (Lexington, KY).
