River Mill Jaguars (Graham, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Southern Wake Academy Lions (Holly Springs, NC), 2-0 in a league bout.

With the victory, River Mill upgrades its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Woods Charter (Chapel Hill, NC) to play the Wolves in a 1A Central Tar Heel bout on Friday, January 26. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Woods Charter lost 64-21 in their recent league bout against Southern Wake Academy (Holly Springs, NC)

Next up, the Lions play the Clover Garden School Grizzlies (Burlington, NC) in a 1A Central Tar Heel bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Southern Wake Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Grizzlies come into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 54-34 league win over Ascend Leadership (Sanford, NC).
