Southern Wayne Saints (Dudley, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC), 64-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Southern Wayne upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Saints host East Wake (Wendell, NC) to play the Warriors in a 3A Quad County bout on Friday, January 26. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 12-4. East Wake won 79-40 in their recent league bout against Smithfield-Selma (Smithfield, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC) in a 3A Quad County bout, on Friday, January 26. South Johnston will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 2-12 record after their 79-40 league loss to East Wake (Wendell, NC).
