North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County topples Freedom

January 24, 2024: West Jefferson, NC 28694

In Wednesday's league outing, the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a count of 67-58.

The Huskies (11-6) will now prepare for their outing against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the 3A/4A Northwestern outing with a 14-3 record. In their last outing, Watauga defeated Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 50-38, in a league outing.

The Patriots now hold a 10-7 record. They play next when they host Alexander Central for a 3A/4A Northwestern outing on Friday, January 26. Freedom will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 50-38 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 16-2.
