North Carolina High School Basketball - Nantahala overwhelmed by Hayesville

The Hayesville Yellowjackets basketball team scored 73 points and restricted the visiting Nantahala Hawks to 25 in the Yellowjackets non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 14-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Murphy for a 1A Smoky Mountain contest on Friday, January 26. Hayesville will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 70-26 league win over Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-11.

The Hawks (1-11) will now prepare for their contest against Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Eagles come into the 1A Smoky Mountain contest with a 13-3 record. In their last contest, Hiwassee Dam triumphed over Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 75-74, in a league contest.
