Pagosa Springs Pirates (Pagosa Springs, CO) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Alamosa Mean Moose (Alamosa, CO), 45-44 in a league match.

With the victory, Pagosa Springs upgrades its record to 3-10 on the year. The Pirates host Montezuma-Cortez (Cortez, CO) to battle the Panthers in a 4A/3A Intermountain challenge on Saturday, January 25. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 9-4. Montezuma-Cortez lost 57-55 in their recent non-league challenge against Montrose (Montrose, CO)

In their next game, the Mean Moose battle the Centauri Falcons (La Jara, CO) in a 4A/3A Intermountain challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Alamosa will attempt to improve on its 2-11 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 14-0 record after their 58-41 league win over Monte Vista (Monte Vista, CO).
