In Friday's league contest, the host Waelder Wildcats basketball team scored a big 56-30 triumph over the Austwell-Tivoli Redfish.

The Wildcats (4-16) will now prepare for their contest against Prairie Lea (Prairie Lea, TX). The Indians go into the 1A Region IV District 30 contest with a 0-10 record. In their last contest, Prairie Lea was trounced by Moulton (Moulton, TX), 89-29, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Redfish battle the Runge Yellowjackets (Runge, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 30 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Austwell-Tivoli will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the contest with a 0-9 record after their 68-30 league loss to Nordheim (Nordheim, TX).
