Illinois High School Basketball - Benton victorious over Carterville

In Friday's non-league contest, the host Benton Rangers basketball team scored a good 52-42 triumph over the Carterville Lions.

The Rangers (18-1) will now prepare for their contest against Meridian (Mounds, IL). The Bobcats go into the non-league contest with a 15-5 record. In their last contest, Meridian topped Vandalia (Vandalia, IL), 76-70, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Lions confront the Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, IL) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Carterville will attempt to better on its 9-9 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the contest with a 8-11 record after their 51-44 non-league win over New Athens (New Athens, IL).
