In Friday's league contest, the host Big Sandy Wildcats basketball team scored a big 70-43 triumph over the McLeod Longhorns.
The Wildcats (10-14) will now prepare for their contest against Union Grove (Gladewater, TX). The Lions go into the 2A Region III District 21 contest with a 16-13 record. In their last contest, Union Grove smashed Harleton (Harleton, TX), 58-42, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Longhorns confront the Linden-Kildare Tigers (Linden, TX) in a 2A Region III District 21 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. McLeod will attempt to better on its 12-20 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 1-19 record after their 62-19 league loss to Ore City (Ore City, TX).
