The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX) and the host Bloomburg Wildcats (Bloomburg, TX), observed Saltillo's basketball team overcome Bloomburg by a margin of 57-42.

The Lions (20-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Avery (Avery, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 1A Region III District 20 challenge with a 17-12 record. In their last bout, Avery gained a win over Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX), 52-38, in a league bout.

With the loss, Bloomburg falls to 3-17 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Avinger (Avinger, TX) to play the Indians in a 1A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 28. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 1-21. Avinger lost 60-38 in their recent league bout against Union Hill (Gilmer, TX)
