In Friday's league contest, the host Calvert Trojans basketball team scored a good 63-55 win over the Dime Box Longhorns.

The Trojans (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against North Zulch (North Zulch, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 1A Region IV District 29 contest with a 7-13 record. In their last contest, North Zulch was topped by Fayetteville (Fayetteville, TX), 83-28, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Longhorns battle the Round Top-Carmine Cubs (Carmine, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 29 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Dime Box will attempt to better on its 7-10 season record. The Cubs come into the contest with a 5-18 record after their 57-38 non-league loss to Sacred Heart (Hallettsville, TX).
