The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD) and the host Calvert Cavaliers (Prince Frederick, MD), observed Great Mills's basketball team overwhelm Calvert by a score of 71-33.

The Hornets (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against McDonough (Pomfret, MD). The Rams come into the Southern Maryland challenge with a 8-5 record. In their last challenge, McDonough was routed by Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD), 64-60, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers encounter the Westlake Wolverines (Waldorf, MD) in a Southern Maryland challenge, on Friday, January 31. Calvert will attempt to improve on its 1-15 season record.
