North Carolina High School Basketball - Carolina International knocks off Piedmont Community Charter

January 24, 2025: Gastonia, NC 28052

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC) and the host Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC), observed Carolina International's basketball team overcome Piedmont Community Charter by a score of 72-58.

The Comets (14-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Rock Hill (Rock Hill, SC). The Bearcats come into the non-league challenge with a 6-11 record. In their last challenge, Rock Hill dropped by Catawba Ridge (Fort Mill, SC), 56-50, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots battle the Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) in a 1A Metro 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Piedmont Community Charter will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 11-6 record after their 61-54 league win over Jackson Day (Charlotte, NC).
