The Mustangs (17-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Prairiland (Pattonville, TX). The Patriots come into the 3A Region II District 12 challenge with a 14-16 record. In their last challenge, Prairiland trounced Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, TX), 46-31, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers encounter the Lone Oak Buffaloes (Lone Oak, TX) in a 3A Region II District 12 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Mount Vernon will attempt to improve on its 0-19 season record. The Buffaloes come into the challenge with a 17-12 record after their 52-50 league win over Commerce (Commerce, TX).
