In Friday's league contest, the visiting Eau Claire Shamrocks basketball team scored a close 59-54 win over the Columbia Capitals.

The Shamrocks (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Chester (Chester, SC). The Cyclones come into the AA Region 3 contest with a 4-8 record. In their last contest, Chester was tipped by Fairfield Central (Winnsboro, SC), 62-55, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Capitals battle the Mid-Carolina Rebels (Prosperity, SC) in a AA Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Columbia will attempt to better on its 3-14 season record. The Rebels come into the contest with a 3-12 record after their 65-40 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, SC).
