In Friday's league contest, the host Kilgore Bulldogs basketball team scored a big 83-40 triumph over the Cumberland Academy Knights.

The Bulldogs (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Pine Tree (Longview, TX). The Pirates go into the 4A Region II District 16 contest with a 17-11 record. In their last contest, Pine Tree smashed Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 53-18, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Knights confront the Chapel Hill Bulldogs (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Cumberland Academy will attempt to better on its 9-16 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 24-5 record after their 89-31 league win over Henderson (Henderson, TX).
