The Cardinals (11-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Buckin' Elks come into the 1A Northwest challenge with a 9-8 record. In their last challenge, Elkin edged North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 65-59, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Granite Bears encounter the South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) in a 1A Northwest challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Mount Airy will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Sauras come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 76-53 league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC).
