Texas High School Basketball - Weslaco thwarts Edinburg North

The crowd at Friday's league outing between the Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX) and the visiting Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX), observed Weslaco's basketball squad gain a win over Edinburg North by a final score of 36-25.

Next, the Panthers clash with the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears (San Juan, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 outing, on Tuesday, January 28. Weslaco will attempt to upgrade on its 20-8 season record. The Bears come into the outing with a 10-20 record after their 59-42 league loss to Economedes (Edinburg, TX).

The Cougars (19-14) will now prepare for their outing against La Joya (La Joya, TX). The Coyotes come into the 6A Region IV District 31 outing with a 11-19 record. In their last outing, La Joya was defeated by Edinburg (Edinburg, TX), 69-60, in a league outing.
