In Friday's league contest, the host Lorena Leopards basketball team scored a good 53-42 win over the Gatesville Hornets.

The Leopards (15-14) will now prepare for their contest against Connally (Waco, TX). The Cadets come into the 4A Region III District 23 contest with a 17-10 record. In their last contest, Connally defeated Robinson (Robinson, TX), 62-54, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Gatesville will attempt to better on its 17-11 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 12-15 record after their 68-34 league loss to La Vega (Waco, TX).
