In Friday's league contest, the host Union City Golden Tornadoes basketball team scored a big 69-42 triumph over the Greenfield Yellowjackets.

The Golden Tornadoes (10-11) will now prepare for their contest against Dresden (Dresden, TN). The Lions go into the 1A District 14 contest with a 3-12 record. In their last contest, Dresden was trounced by Gleason (Gleason, TN), 60-41, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets battle the Lake County Falcons (Tiptonville, TN) in a 1A District 14 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Greenfield will attempt to better on its 9-11 season record. The Falcons go into the contest with a 7-12 record after their 66-58 league loss to Gleason (Gleason, TN).
