In Friday's league contest, the visiting Pekin Panthers basketball team scored a good 61-50 triumph over the Lone Tree Lions.

The Panthers (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Hillcrest Academy (Kalona, IA). The Ravens go into the SEI - North contest with a 11-1 record. In their last contest, Hillcrest Academy topped Winfield-Mt. Union (Winfield, IA), 51-43, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Lions confront the English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 27. Lone Tree will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record. The Bears go into the contest with a 4-14 record after their 61-53 league win over Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA).
