Texas High School Basketball - Morton triumphant over Smyer

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Morton Indians (Morton, TX) and the visiting Smyer Bobcats (Smyer, TX), observed Morton's basketball team overwhelm Smyer by a score of 66-43.

The Indians (8-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Plains (Plains, TX). The Cowboys come into the 2A Region I District 5 challenge with a 22-2 record. In their last challenge, Plains trounced Sundown (Sundown, TX), 67-45, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Bobcats encounter the Whiteface Antelopes (Whiteface, TX) in a 2A Region I District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Smyer will attempt to improve on its 5-14 season record. The Antelopes come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 54-40 league win over Ropes (Ropesville, TX).
