The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS) and the visiting Murrah Mustangs (Jackson, MS), observed Tupelo's basketball team knock off Murrah by a score of 55-45.

The Golden Wave (14-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Germantown (Madison, MS). The Mavericks come into the 7A Region 2 challenge with a 18-4 record. In their last challenge, Germantown prevailed over Starkville (Starkville, MS), 50-42, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Clinton Arrows (Clinton, MS) in a 7A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Murrah will attempt to improve on its 5-16 season record. The Arrows come into the challenge with a 12-10 record after their 53-35 league loss to Starkville (Starkville, MS).
