Ohio High School Basketball - Smithville overwhelms Northwestern

The Smithville Smithies basketball team scored 70 points and limited the host Northwestern Huskies to 31 in the Smithies league triumph on Friday.

The Smithies now possess a 14-2 record. They play next when they travel to Chippewa for a Wayne County game on Friday, January 31. Smithville will confront a Chipps team coming off a 68-67 league loss to Dalton (Dalton, OH). The Chipps record now stands at 8-9.

With the loss, Northwestern falls to 1-14 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Waynedale (Apple Creek, OH) to confront the Golden Bears in a Wayne County game on Tuesday, January 28. The Golden Bears go into the game with a record of 5-11. Waynedale won 68-48 in their recent non-league game against Sandy Valley (Magnolia, OH)
