In Friday's league contest, the host St. Rose Purple Roses basketball team scored a big 77-40 triumph over the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers.
The Purple Roses (11-5) will now prepare for their contest against Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ). The Vikings go into the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Union Catholic was trounced by Westfield (Westfield, NJ), 57-49, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Manasquan Warriors (Manasquan, NJ) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 27. Point Pleasant Boro will attempt to better on its 10-5 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 13-2 record after their 52-34 non-league win over Lenape (Medford, NJ).
