In Friday's league test, the South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA) basketball squad defeated the host Shady Side Academy Bulldogs (Pittsburgh, PA), by a final score of 73-54.

Next, the Gladiators clash with the Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 test, on Tuesday, January 28. South Allegheny will attempt to upgrade on its 13-2 season record.

The Bulldogs (4-12) will now prepare for their test against South Park (South Park, PA). The Eagles come into the WPIAL 3A 3 test with a 9-3 record. In their last test, South Park overcame Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA), 41-33, in a league test.
