In Friday's league contest, the host Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles basketball team scored a close 28-24 triumph over the Cardinal Mooney Catholic Cardinals.

The Gazelles (2-7) will now prepare for their contest against Austin Catholic (Chesterfield, MI). The Crusaders go into the non-league contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Austin Catholic nipped New Life Christian Academy (Kimball, MI), 46-18, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cardinals confront the Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit Jaguars (West Bloomfield, MI) in a Catholic C-D D contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Cardinal Mooney Catholic will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record.
