North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central thwarts Freedom

January 24, 2025: Taylorsville, NC 28681

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), observed Alexander Central's basketball team knock off Freedom by a score of 51-37.

The Cougars (11-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Red Tornadoes come into the non-league challenge with a 3-10 record.

In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern challenge, on Friday, January 31. Freedom will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 12-7 record after their 51-49 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
