The Elbert County Blue Devils (Elberton, GA) basketball edged the host Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA), 44-43 in Friday's league bout.
The Blue Devils now possess a 18-1 record. They play next when they travel to Stephens County for a non-league bout on Saturday, January 25. Elbert County will play a Indians team coming off a 51-23 league loss to Hart County (Hartwell, GA). The Indians record now stands at 2-15.
